My boy's birthday...

...we've got one boy in this family, and today was his day!

This is my 37 year old boy.

We had a great day...he finished up work early, right as the girls were finishing up their last day of school around noon and we met for lunch at the Forum. We decided to try the new Mexican restaurant that had opened and were VERY pleasantly surprised at how authentic and very family friendly it was, with very kind staff and good, reasonably priced food. We will definitely be back!

The highlight was when they put a sombrero on him and sang something in spanish. I am kicking myself for not having the camera on me to capture his face. Just picture the "you have got to be kidding me" CJ face and there you have it, but picture it with a sombrero on his head...Ole'! :)

(note Sarah's cast in the above pic...we had an appt. right before this pic where they xrayed her again-for the 3rd time since the break. The bone is starting to fill in where the breaks are now...she's had it on for 3 1/2 weeks and has 3 weeks more to go with the long cast before she gets the short cast for 2 more weeks, which we will be able to get in a waterproof model, yea!...anyway, the cast and gauze had come apart around her thumb and so they had to add more casting material to it, so she chose yellow...they would have redone the whole cast, but recommended just adding to it since the arm was still broken and they felt that it would be too traumatic and painful for her to have it cut off and recasted when it would likely still hurt...I agreed!)

The girls lavished Daddy with balloons, cards and gifts when we got home. We must have done well this year, because we actually got some smiles out of the man! check it out...

I found the most perfect t-shirt for him! He must have loved it because he put it right on and wore it to the movies! We took all the girls out to see Night At The Museum 2 after the presents.

This evening we are just hanging out...wanted to do a fire pit, but it rained all afternoon. He is doing his neighborly duty going back and forth to the n'hood pool where they are grilling and celebrating school's out, despite the dreary weather.

Its been a good day, Happy Birthday to my one and only boy.
