This is where all the love, mentoring and consistent nurturing will win out. It is what it is. From a girl to a lovely woman. That is an enormous leap and comes with struggle, frustration, anger, mistakes, but most of all insecurity of who one is until one day the beautiful dawn breaks and there is the beautiful woman. I think its called metamorphous in some circles.(: And oh, by the way, it takes about 9 years or so.
